Naia Okami is an experienced private investigator with extensive experience in legal investigations, animal crimes investigations, retail asset protection operations and criminal justice training & consulting. She is also a trained paralegal. She has been investigating animal crimes on a volunteer basis for decades and has as an investigator secured numerous convictions against those who do harm to animals and children, liasing with law enforcement authorities worldwide as needed. She has served as a director for both counter-trafficking and animal welfare organizations. She is a recognized authority in animal crimes cases and frequently gives training courses to law enforcement professionals on how to handle animal crimes, and has served as an expert witness in court in her capacity as an experienced leader in the security & investigations industry. Her work against zoosadism was recently celebrated in the TV documentary, "Furry Detectives: Unmasking a Monster" (AMC+/Sundance), including her work helping secure the criminal conviction of Australian TV zoologist Adam Britton. She is the licensed principal investigator of Cascadia Risk Management.
